Tour Plan
Day 1: From Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel or the airport for an early morning departure at 6:30 am. The journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park takes approximately two hours (150 km). Upon arrival, you'll embark on a six-hour game drive, exploring the park’s diverse wildlife. A hot lunch will be served inside the park, followed by an afternoon game drive where you may spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species.
Tarangire is renowned for its abundant elephant population and is a prime birding destination. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only reliable water source, attracting large herds of wildlife. The park’s striking landscape, dominated by ancient baobab trees, adds to its unique charm.
Tonight, you will stay at Ngedere Lodge, an authentic budget-friendly accommodation.
Day 2: Central Serengeti National Park
Start your day early with a 6:30 am departure from Ngedere Lodge, embarking on a scenic 4-hour drive (231 km) to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch at one of Serengeti’s designated picnic sites before continuing with an afternoon game drive.
Explore the vast plains of the Central Serengeti, home to an abundance of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and wildebeests. As the sun sets, you will head to Seronera Campsite, where our team will take care of all the camping arrangements, from setting up tents to preparing comfortable sleeping spaces, ensuring you have a peaceful night under the African sky.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro
Begin your day with an early breakfast or a cup of coffee before setting out on a morning game drive at 6:30 am. This is one of the best times to spot predators in action as the Serengeti comes to life with the rising sun.
After an eventful morning, return to the campsite for brunch before embarking on a game drive en route as you exit the park. In the afternoon, journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will spend the night just outside the crater rim.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Simba Campsite – Experience a tranquil night in the heart of nature, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Start your day with an early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a thrilling six-hour game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most wildlife-rich areas in Africa, offering a high chance of spotting the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino.
Despite covering only 260 km², the crater boasts a variety of ecosystems, including montane forests, grasslands, acacia woodlands, swamps, and a salt lake, creating a haven for diverse wildlife. Expect to see large populations of zebras, hippos, antelopes, and an incredible variety of bird species thriving in this unique environment.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. In the late afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive to Karibu Heritage House, where you'll have dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 5: Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour
Begin your day with a visit to the breathtaking Materuni Waterfalls, where you'll enjoy a scenic hike through lush forests. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the history and cultural significance of this stunning location.
Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by the Chagga people, who have called this region home for centuries. Experience their warm hospitality as you explore their village and gain a glimpse into their traditional way of life.
Next, visit a local coffee plantation, where you'll learn about the entire coffee-making process—from cultivation and drying to roasting and brewing. Watch as villagers handcraft their coffee using age-old techniques, accompanied by traditional songs. You'll also get to taste freshly brewed coffee and sample a local banana soup, a regional delicacy.
For lunch, enjoy an authentic Chagga meal, immersing yourself in the rich flavors of local cuisine.
Afterward, return to Arusha, or if needed, we can arrange an airport transfer to suit your schedule.
