Overview
Lake Manyara National Park is a diverse and scenic wildlife sanctuary located in northern Tanzania, nestled between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and Lake Manyara itself. Though smaller than other major parks, it boasts rich biodiversity, stunning landscapes, and unique wildlife experiences, making it a must-visit destination.
The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior not commonly seen elsewhere. It is also home to large elephant herds, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and countless baboons, which are among the largest troop populations in Africa. The lake itself attracts flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and over 400 bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
